About Chapman A. Slye
The official death certificate and the obit in the Washington Post state that at the time of his death his wife was Elizabeth Dyson Slye. They were also shown to be the parents of Francis A. Slye. The 1930 Census shows C.A. Slye as being married to a Mary E. Slye. Another a death record shows that the parents of Francis A. Slye were C.A. & Jennie (Dyson) Slye which is incorrect. His living children were listed in the Post as Harry E., W. Chapman, and William T. Slye. Daughters were J. Aubrey Abell, Mrs. Irving Hecht, and Mrs. Francis L. Simmons.
The Post in Jan. of 1910 said his ship rescued a man in a small boat from an ice jam on the lower Potomac River, just below Alexandria, Va. and but a few miles south of Washington, D.C.* Reference: Find A Grave Memorial - SmartCopy: Sep 23 2020, 8:50:25 UTC
