p. 353 Charles, the eldest son, being aged eighteeen years and two months old at his father's death, was made a ward of his mother 26 April 1619 until he came of age.
p. 355. He made his will 15 Feb 1659 [proved 28 June 1660] & directed that he was to be buried at St Patrick's church in Dublin, where his mother, wife and one of his sons had been interred before him.... son & heir Richard, Lord Lambart, estates devised to his son Oliver ( whom he appointed executor), then his sons Charles & Walter executor. 120 pounds a year to Oliver, 100 pounds to Charles, 80 pounds to Walter. Elizabeth, Hester & Rose, his daughters 50 pounds a year & 100 pounds at marriage...

p. 356 Issue- 5 sons & four daughters, viz.
Richard, Francis, died before his father, Oliver, Charles died 2 June 1660 aged 23, left no issue, buried 9 June St Patricks, Walter, Elizabeth, Hester, Rose, Arabella

Cavan probably spent the 1650s living at Finglas, Co. Dublin, where he appears on the 1659 census. In 1660 he was high sheriff of Co. Cavan.

Charles Lambart, 1st Earl of Cavan was born circa April 1600 at Ireland.[3] He was the son of Oliver Lambart, 1st Lord Lambart, Baron of Cavan and Hester Fleetwood.[2]

He married Hon. Jane Robartes, daughter of Richard Robartes, 1st Baron Robartes of Truro and Frances Hender, before 30 June 1625.[3]

He died on 25 June 1660.[1] He was buried on 4 July 1660 at St. Patricks Cathedral, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.[3] His will (dated 15 February 1659) was probated on 28 June 1660 at Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.[3]

  • He succeeded to the title of 2nd Lord Lambart, Baron of Cavan, co. Cavan [I., 1618] circa June 1618.[1]
  • He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Bossiney in 1626.[1]
  • He held the office of Seneschal of the County Cavan and Kells in 1627.[1],[3]
  • He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Bossiney from 1628 to 1629.[1] He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Ireland].[1]
  • He was commander of the forces of Dublin in 1642 helping to suppress the 1641 Uprising with a 1000 strong infantry regiment.[1]
  • He was created 1st Viscount Kilcoursie, in the King's County [Ireland] on 1 April 1647.[1] He was created 1st Earl of the County of Cavan [Ireland] on 1 April 1647.[1]
