Clare Eames (August 5, 1894 - November 8, 1930) was an influential Broadway actress, stage director and the wife of playwright Sidney Howard. Eames after WW1 was along with Jeanne Eagels considered one of the leading new female lights of the Broadway stage performing in many classic roles including Shakespeare, Henrik Ibsen and George Bernard Shaw. She appeared in a handful of silent film roles in which audiences could not hear her voice. Unfortunately she died at just 34 leaving behind her husband Sidney Howard and their small daughter Clare, later known as Jennifer Howard.

She was only 36, and left behind her husband, Sidney Howard, and small daughter Clare, later known as Jennifer Howard.
Her aunt was American soprano Emma Eames.
