About Clarles Leon Lightner

According to his death certificate which was found on Ancestry.com, Charles Leon Lightner was the son of Charles Watson Lightner and Lydia Williams. He was born October 14, 1885, in Minersville, Beaver County, Utah, and died October 19, 1947, in Ogden, Weber Coutny, Utah, and is buried in the city cemetery there. He was married to Ruby Stahr, who was 62 years old at the time of his death, however, his death certificate says they were divorced.

The cause of death says..."cerebral hemorrhage--not certain which proceeded which. Cerebral hemorrhage may have proceeded and caused fall and subsequent fractured skull and left leg, or accident may have been causative factor in subdural hematoma." The death certificate indicates that he fell in a ditch in a public place in Ogden, Utah, and that he was also an alcoholic. At the time of his death, he was residing at 3360 Eccles Street in Ogden, Utah, and the person who signed his death certificate was a Mrs. Alta M. Scott, who also resided at the same address.

He died in the Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah, after a stay of six days. The only other relative I can find of his was a sister Alta May, born April 2, 1884, in Fillmore, Utah, who also died in Ogden, Utah, date unknown, according to Family Search.org.
