Daniel O'Brien, 1st Viscount Clare (Gaelic; Dónall MacConchobhair Ó Briain) was the younger son of Connor O'Brien, 3rd Earl of Thomond and Una O'Brien.

He married Lady Catherine FitzGerald, daughter of Gerald FitzGerald, 15th Earl of Desmond and Eleonar Butler. O'Brien was invested as a knight on the 1st July 1604 in Leixlip, Co. Kildare, Ireland and held the office of MP for Co. Clare from 1613 to 1614. O'Brien was also a member of the Supreme Council of the Catholic Confederates and was created 1st Viscount Clare and 1st Baron Moyarta in 1662. Daniel died in 1666.
