Daniel Peck, an aged and prominent resident of this town, met with a tragic death at the home of his son George, adjoining the Peck homestead, this morning Mr. Peck was assisting his son in haying, driving the horse which pulled he fork by means of which the hay was drawn up into the loft. A big forkful was being pulled up, when a tug on the horse's harness
broke and the whistletree, flying back struck Mr. Peck over the heart. He feel to the ground unconscious and died from the shock within half an hour without having regained his senses. Mr. Peck was born In Rensselaer county 83 years ago. In ?? came to Genesee County with his father, Daniel Peck, and settled in Pembroke. When about 21 years of age he came to Bergen and obtained employment here on a farm. Most of his life since had been spent in this town. He was an earnest member of the Bergen M.E. church and was prominent as a worker for Prohibition. He possessed the highest esteem of a very large circle of acquaintances. Besides his aged wife Mr. Peck is survived by by four sons, George W., Fremont and Richmond of Bergen and Elmer K. Peck of Batavia, and three daughters Mrs. Wealthy McKenzie of North Bergen, Mrs. Frances Green of West Bergen and Mrs. Clara Bassett of Rochester
