Darrel W. Nightingale

WELLSVILLE - Darrel W. Nightingale, 59, of Wellsville, died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born Aug. 7, 1952, in East Liverpool, the son of the late Robert and Florence (Elliott) Nightingale.
Darrel graduated from Wellsville High School in 1970 and was a crane operator for Allegheny-Ludlum Steel in Midland. He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. Darrel coached wrestling in the Wellsville school district as well as for the Tigermites. He was an avid fisherman and golfer.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara (Osborn) Nightingale, whom he married Feb. 12, 1973; threesons: Jason Nightingale of North Canton, Ryan Nightingale and his wife Jenna ofAurora, and Nathan Nightingale of Wellsville; three sisters: Joan Reed and her husband Tom of Wellsville, Janet Campbell and her husband Earl of East Liverpool, and Betty Oyster and her husband Jim of Florida; two brothers: Robert Nightingale and his wife Sharon of Sweetser, Ind., and Steve Nightingale and his wife Theresa of Chester.
In addition to his parents, Darrel was preceded in death byhis stepmother, Bonavier Nightingale, who helped raise him from the age of six.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, at the Covenant Presbyterian Church, 405 18th St. in Wellsville, with Pastor Kenneth Maylone of the Central United Methodist Church officiating.
In lieu of flowers,the family requests that memorial donations be made in Darrel's name to the Takedown Club, P. O. Box 623, Wellsville, Ohio, 43968.
