Note: Peter Staples was at Kittery, Maine, as early as 1669. Ridlon states in his History of Saco Valley Families that he is known as Peter, Junior. Grace Bischoff, in her study of Swans Island families, also, lists him as, "junior." Peter Staples will, dated 6 June 1718, lists him as being "aged."

• James Staples, b. c 1678, Kittery, York Co., Maine; Tailor; 1721, Deacon of the Second Parish, Kittery (now Eliot); d.1725, aged 47 in Kittery, York Co., Maine. Married Apr 15, 1701, in Kittery, York Co., Maine, Mary TETHERLY. They had eight children.

Peter Staples, died early 1719, Kittery, now Eliot, Maine.
