About Dorothy Ann Borgfeldt
DOROTHY SHELBY BORGFELDT
Dorothy Shelby Borgfeldt, 81, died March 30, 2001, at Air Force
Village West, a retirement community in Southern California.
Ms. Borgfeldt, born in Bayonne, N.J., to John and Mary Shelby, was a
Burbank resident for 30 years. After graduating from St. Mary's College,
Ms. Borgfeldt became a runway and photographic model in New York City,
where one of her photos remains on permanent exhibition in the Museum of
Modern Art.
She was a championship bowler, participating in tournaments across the
United States and winning hundreds of trophies. Her other activities
included tennis, membership in the Flying Tigers of the 14th Air Force
Assn., the Retired Officers Assn. and the Emblem Club.
Ms. Borgfeldt traveled all over the world. Several years before her
death, she visited China for the fourth time.
Her husband of 45 years, Lt. Col. Richard N. Borgfeldt U.S. Army-ret.)
preceded her in death. She is survived by daughters Susan Galvin and
Pamela Taylor; twin sons Richard Borgfeldt and Nicholas Borgfeldt; and
two grandchildren.
After cremation, Ms. Borgfeldt will be interred with her husband under
a single headstone at Arlington National Cemetery.
