About Dorothy Evelyn Laulainen
Dorothy lived in Onalaska when she was a young child in a house that her father built. Then her parents bought a farm in Curtis, and she spent the rest of her life living there except for the winters she and Reino spent in Arizona. She was an excellent cook, made many of our clothes when we were young, and an accomplished knitter. Reading, camping, and traveling were high on her list of favorites. Spending time with her family was always number one on her list.
Dorothy Gish Laulainen and Reino Laulainen owned the Curtis Store and Mom was the postmistress at that time. We lived in the house which was (and still is) part of the building containing the store and post office. The high school for that area was Boistfort which has been closed for some time now. My mother, sister, and I all went to BHS. Karen
