Dr. Julian Edgar Atkinson

Julian was my stepfather who was an obgyn and surgeon. He graduated from the Citadel and graduated from the College of Charleston medical school. He served in the Army as an Obgyn after doing his residency in Minnesota. In the army he was stationed in Taiwan, Taipei then moved to Laurens,SC and took over the practice of Dr.Dusenberry. He was the County Dr. he ran for Mayor of Laurens serving for 12 years. He married my Mother, Taddy Gornto Dobson in 1956. He and my Mother had a child, Julianna, who died after birth. Jultian fathered a child, James Howard Atkinson, whom Mary raised as her own.Julian was a Mason and a Hejaz Shriner.
