About Edith Stevens
She was a gentle person.
An avid gardener with glorious gardens at Green St, Wynnum and loved her chooks.
Fell down on her knees while gardening in Green St, Wynnum because she had a stroke or heart attack and died.
Born on Ballandine Station in 1868 which was a cattle station 40 miles from St George, sold in 1879:
TUESDAY. JUNE 10. CATTLE STATION. MARANOA DISTRICT, QUEENSLAND. FENWICK & CO. have received in structions from the Executrix of the mortgagee to sell by auction, at the Pastoral Exchange, Queen-street, Brisbane, on TUESDAY, June 10, at Twelve o'clock noon, The well-known Cattle Station BALLANDINE, situated on the Moonie, about forty miles from the township of St. George. The run comprises two blocks of the finest grazing oountry, well watered by creeks and permanent waterholes. The Station will be sold with about 600 Head of Well bred CATTLE (book muster). To anyone with moderate capital in want of a really good Cattle Station this is an opportunity which ought not to be missed. The country is, and has been for some time, understocked, so that there is plenty of room for increase. For further particulars apply to FENWICK & CO., Brisbane.
