Jan. 13, 1858, Sarah Townsend, b. June n, 1828, dau. of Charles de Kay and Maria [Fonda] Townsend of Albany, N. Y., desc. of Henry and Anne [Coles] Townsend, early settlers of Oyster Bay, N. Y.; also desc. of Capt. Thos. de Key and Helena Van Brugh, who was gr.-dau. of the noted Anneke Janse. (See lineage of S. Townsend.) Sarah had three children, viz.: Sarah Townsend,

Walter Henry and Julia Weekes); son of Butler Coles of Dosoris, N. Y., b. there, Apr. 5, 1797, d. at Middletown Point, N. J., Mar. 1, 1840, mill-owner at Dosoris many years, served on staff of Gen. Floyd (m. Jan. 22, 1821, Julia Ann Weekes, b. Aug. 12, 1802, d. Jan. 23, 1893, dau. of James and Miriam [Doughty] Weekes, desc. of Francis Weekes, an early settler at Hempstead and Oyster Bay, and of Rev. Francis Doughty of Flushing, N. Y.)
