notes
- Belnap Records at one time listed Elizabeth's parents to be Robert French and Susan Riddlesdale. I believe this is confused with Elizabeth's mother-in-law Lucy Riddlesdale who married a Robert French. (http://www.shaweb.net/Wheeler/terry/9478.htm)
- Proof that Elizabeth French did not marry Henry Loker of Bures St. Mary, Essex, England. Article by Douglas Richardson published in the NEHGR, Vol. 43, Oct 1989. According to Douglas Richardson’s article in the NEHGR, December 1989, Henry Riddlesdale, alias Loker, married Elizabeth (not French). There is no evidence that Elizabeth, wife of Henry Loker, was born a French.(http://aleph0.clarku.edu/~djoyce/gen/scituate/RR01/RR01_014.htm#P15215)

Came to America as widow with 4 children.
There is contention that her last name may not have been French but some records do show that however her parents are not known. After the death of her husband Henry Loker in England the Widow Elizabeth and her children became participants in what was then known as "The Great Migration", (1620-1643) which consisted of Puritans fleeing persecution in England. They settled in the community of Sudbury. (wab)
