1937 Obituary: Richfield, Sevier, Utah Ellsworth Whiting Funeral services were held Monday in the South ward chapel at Monroe for Ellsworth Whiting, 40, who died at his home in Provo Thursday of heart trouble.

Bishop Heber Winget presided. The choir, under direction of Thos. Ransom, sang Beyond, and a solo and chorus, He Will Forgive, Mrs. Wells Nielson as Soloist. Other musical numbers were a vocal duet, Whispering Hope, by Mrs H Roland Tietjen and Mrs Lyle Assay, and a violin duet, A Perfect Day, by Misses Karma Nielson, accompanied by Mrs Woodrow Smith. Speakers were Joseph A Smith, Mrs William Musig and Nephi Nordgran. The invocation was by Nephi Nielson, and the benediction by H Roland Tietjen.

Wilford Hansen dedicated the grave, interment being in the [Monroe] city cemetery.

Pallbearers were Heber Whiting, Reed Nielson, Lee Whiting and Zeraldo Nielson.

Mr Nielson was born March 3, 1897, at Centerfield, a son of Sylvester and Hulda Sanders Whiting. He married Eloise Anderson on July 3, 1919.

Surviving besides his widow are four sons and daughters, Marsden, Donald and Betty Whiting, all of Orem; five brothers and sisters, Edwin and Jack [Ausman] Whiting of Riverside, California, Heber Whiting of Smithfield, Mrs Nellie Neilson of Monroe, and Mrs Lee [Mary] Hugentobler of Salina.

Mr Whiting was an active member of the L.D.S. church and was well known for his talent in music. Utah, Richfield Reaper; July 1, 1937, page 4.
