About Esther Ann Hoagland

Esther Ann Luce. She came to Utah in 1848 or 1849. She received her Patriarchal Blessing on 7 April 1850 in Salt Lake City. Her father ws in the 1851 Cummings Company. Her mother and the children came to Utah in 1848 or 1849. Church records prove they arrived before 7 April 1850, when Ester received a patriarchal blessing in Salt Lake. Ester appears in the 1850 Utah census. A sister, Caroline, was married in Utah February 1851 and the family is on the 1856 Census. (Mormon Pioneer Overland Travel database).

In 1851 she was living in Salt Lake City alone with Jackson Shelton, age 19. She married, but later separated from her husband.
