About Frank Bonner
Actor, Television Director. He will be remembered for playing the scheming and loudly dressed marketing manager 'Herb Tarlek' in the situation comedy TV series "WKRP in Cincinnati" (1978 to 1982) and "The New WKRP in Cincinnati" (1991 to 1993). Born Frank Woodrow Boers Jr., his parents were musicians. Following service with the United States Navy, he settled in Hollywood and made his professional acting debut in a stage production of "The Only Bathtub in Cassis." He made his motion picture debut with a starring role in the low-budget, horror film "The Equinox....A Journey into the Supernatural" (1967) and followed this with roles in the television programs "Mannix," "Love, American Style," "The F.B.I.," "Cannon" and "Police Woman." In addition to "WKRP in Cincinnati," he had a recurring role as 'Big Ed Harrington' in the series "Saved by the Bell: The New Class" (1994 to 1997). In addition to acting, Bonner directed episodes from numerous programs, notably "City Guys" (1997 to 2001). He was formerly married to actress Lillian Garrett. He died of complications from Lewy Body Dementia.
