Frank Miller built the Mission Inn in Riverside, California. When Riverside was at its zenith around the turn of the century, the Glenwood Inn, later the Mission Inn was the hub of society. American presidents from Theodore Roosevelt through George W. Bush have visited or stayed at his hotel. It was the scene of amusement in 1909 when President William Howard Taft stayed at the Inn only to find that a chair large enough to carry his 300-pound frame has especially been contructed for him at the hotel. He was less than amused. Frank Miller is the man who gave Riverside, California its most enduring and beloved landmark in this incredible structure.
