1915 Aug 09- Declared fit at the 'Castle', Cape Town by medical Officer, Captain P.J Monayham. 1915 Aug 13- Enlisted in Cape Town with South African Expeditionary Force. Reg Service No. 189. (Age 19 years and 7 months.)
Attested with rank of Gunner into South African Heavy Artillery Corps. (S.A.H.A.), for period of German war and six months after if required. 1915 Aug 14- Appointed to S.A.H.A. at Rondebosch, Cape Town.
