Gabriel est le premier enfant de Guyon Denis Chiasson et de Jeanne Bernard, il est le premier Chiasson à être né dans le nouveau monde.

Rameau (Une colonie féodale, 1, 187) écrit de lui "On voit une famille de Beaubassin envoyer aux mines, un de ses membres, Gabriel Chiasson". Ce séjour fut de courte durée, car, dès 1700, Gabriel était réinstallé à Beaubassin. Il est mort à Beaubassin, âgé de 75 ans, le 10 avril 1741.

Marie Savoie, sa femme, était décédée, en 1714.

Son fils Abraham et sa famille ont été déportés en Caroline du sud, en 1755.

Son fils Jean-Baptiste est décédé en 1757 à Saint-Pierre du Nord, île Saint-Jean, où il s'était réfugié.

Son fils François s'est réfugié à Saint-Pierre du Nord, île Saint-Jean, en 1740. Dans le recensement (1752) des habitants du Havre La Fortune, il y avait aussi Sieur François Chiasson, natif de l'Acadie, âgé de 60 ans , il y a 25 ans qu'il est dans le pays, marié avec Anne Doucet, native de l'Acadie, âgée de 48 ans.

Sa fille Judith, journal et recensement de l'île Royale par le Sieur de la Roque, sous la direction de Monsieur le Comte de Raymond en l'année 1752, contenant aussi Généalogie acadienne et documents se rattachant à l'expulsion des Acadiens compilés par Placide Gaudet.

Dans le recensement des habitants du Havre La Fortune, il y avait un Monsieur Pierre le Prieur, natif de St-Pierre du Nord, âgé de 27 ans, marié à Judith Chiasson, veuve de feu Charles Lacroix dit Durel, native de l'Acadie, âgée de 39 ans, née en 1713.

Sa fille Françoise, dans le recensement des habitants du Havre La Fortune, il y avait un Sieur Guillaume Patris, natif de Saint-Brieux, âgé de 38 ans, marié à Françoise Chiasson, veuve de feu Guillaume Gallet, native de l'Acadie, âgée de 46 ans.

Sa fille Marie, dans le recensement des habitants du Havre La Fortune, il y avait un Sieur Jean-Baptiste Vescot, natif de St-Joachim, évêché de Québec, âgé de 62 ans, marié à Marie Chiasson, native de Beaubassin, Acadie.
