About Genevieve Hannan
I remember my Grandma as gentle and full of life. I used to sleep over sometimes cause Grandpa worked nights. I remember Grandma snored a lot so I would try really hard to get to sleep quickly cause if I didn't I would have trouble getting to sleep because of her snoring. Grandma loved to cook and bake and made the best gram cracker cake in the world. I had her recipe but could never make it right. We would always take a cart and go to the store. In those days there was only 1 car per family and the Dad or Grandpa always had it, in fact I don't think many women drove cars then I know Grandma and Mom didn't. Grandma and Grandpa lived in walking distance from us until I was 8 y/o so I went over there a lot. Then we moved to the suburbs. When I got married our first apartment was just a few blocks away from Grandma's and Mom and Dad's so when I got pregnant with my first child I would walk to their homes almost every day. Uncle Larry lived with Grandma & Grandpa. Grandma got smoke inhalation from a fire in the apartment and never regained her health. I was so sad that so many of her things were destroyed in the fire, she had some things that were special to me but were lost. She was a special lady and I loved her very much,
