"George Baker, b.1822 was an apprentice at Kew and later took employment under the Office of Works in Constantinople, in 1847. He is buried in the Crimean War Cemetery at Scutari Memorial in the Crimean Church Pera."

According to internet info, a transcription (by Yolande Wittall) of graves at Haidar Pasa Cemetery, Istanbul, which includes Crimean War Cemetery noted above, the George Baker inscription reads as follows: "Sacred to the memory of George Baker, born at Totteridge Herts 1822, came to Constantinople in 1847, where he died February 18, 1905"
