George Bell was born about 1660 in Isle of Wight County, Virginia, and died 1752 in Edgecombe County, North Carolina.

When George BELL was born in 1672 in Isle of Wight, Virginia, his father, George, was 43 and his mother, Hester, was 43. He was married twice. He died on December 21, 1751, in Edgecombe, North Carolina, having lived a long life of 79 years. George Bell Jr. witnessed the will of Francis Hobbs in 1687. In 1688 he was a legatee of Alexander Webster and he was living in Isle of Wight Co. as late as 24 Jan 1742, when he, together with Roger Allen, presented an account of the estate of Thomas Allen.369

George Bell made his will in Edgecombe Co. [NC] December 21, 1751, probated in February, 1752. In this will, he named sons Arthur, George and William, daughter Elizabeth Ffloyd, granddaughter Mary Bell. The executors were Francis Ffloyd and Arthur Bell. Witnesses were William Pertis, Thomas Bell and Thomas Ffloyd.369

A listing for the death of George Bell Sr., planter, appears in the Edgecombe Co., NC Vital Records, 1720-1880, a compilation of records originally derived from a book entitled Early Families of Edgecombe County, North Carolina, Its Past and Present, published by the Tarboro Society for Genealogy and Biography in 1881.354 Listed children are Arthur, George, William and Elizabeth.[1]
