About George Byng, 6th Viscount Torrington
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Byng,_6th_Viscount_Torrington
George Byng, 6th Viscount Torrington (1768–1831) was a Vice-Admiral in the Royal Navy. His son, the seventh Viscount, served as Governor of Ceylon between 1847 and 1850.
King William I of the Netherlands made the sixth viscount an Officer in the Military Order of William because of his command of HMS Cumberland, the ship that returned the king to the Netherlands from his exile in London. The viscount was obliged to decline the appointment.
