"George was the first owner of Meenasorthy, which his father had purchased for him, and conveyed the property to him by Indenture dated 4th May 1837. George had to pay Ten shillings Sterling to his father before getting possession of the house (later to become the stable, dairy, pulping house and potato house), farm plus "all the crops, twenty cows, one bull, two horses, two cars and tackling, one plow, one harrow with the household furniture." - Robert FitzGerald (b.1920) in 1998 document
