  George Lyttelton, 1st Baron Lyttelton of Frankley was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England. 

He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Okehampton between 1735 and 1756.

He was Principal Secretary to the Prince of Wales between 1737 and 1744.

He held the office of Lord of Treasury between 1744 and 1754.

He succeeded to the title of 5th Baronet Lyttelton on 14 September 1751.

He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1754.

He was Cofferer to the Hosuehold from 1754 to 1755.

He held the office of Chancellor of the Exchequer from 1755 to 1756.
