According to the Orkney saga, Goi was the daughter of Thorri, and was kidnapped by Hrolf of the Hill, a king in Norway.

Her brothers, Nor and Gor, searched for her for several years, in the process conquering Norway and Denmark, one becoming king of Norway and the other king of "the outer islands".

Goi was eventually found, and Hrolf and Nor eventually met in combat; neither could vanquish the other, and they made peace, Hrolf staying married to Goi, and Nor taking Hrolf's sister for his wife; Hrolf then became Nor's subject.
