A first settler in Beverwyck, New Netherland. -------------------- He was a trader at Beverwyck as early as 1657. In 1660 he returned to Holland. He was an agent for Dirk DeWolf. and evidently made several trips between the two countries. In 1668 he and other merchants from NY were in Holland again. They purchased goods, chartered the ship "King Charles" and petitioned the king of England to send it to NY. In 1673 he was appointed one of the magistrates of Schenectady and in 1674 "Schout"? of the village. He was reprimanded for pretending to give privileges to the Indian trade.
