Henry Johnson was doubtless one of the individuals brought over by Robert Taliaferro. He and his son Richard had many associations with the Taliaferro family as Essex and Spotsylvania records indicated.

Date of birth is estimated based on the date of marriage together with the 1666 date of his arrival from England. At best it brackets the real date.

In his will Henry Johnson gave 100 acres of land to Catherine; 400 acres and his home to his son, Richard. Henry Johnson's wife died before 1695, and Henry Johnson, m. Christian Bourne, widow of John Bourne.

This Henry Johnson is not to be confused with another Henry Johnson, orphan in 1685, who married Elizabeth Muffitt (Massett), step-daughter of Richard Bond who came from Maryland. Henry and Elizabeth Muffit Johnson were still married in 1700. He is associated with a Thomas Johnson (wife Mary) and another Richard Johnson of Essex County, but in another area. The relationship, if any, to Henry Johnson, father of Richard and the four daughters is not know at this time.
