Our connection to this family can be traced back to Norwich, Norfolk, England, when a THOMAS NICKERSON was born there in 1515. Family legend has it that he was a descendant of the Lord Bishop of Derry, Ireland, named William Nickerson, but this is unconfirmed. Thomas married MARGARET RUDD (1520-1542) and they had a son, THOMAS JR. Thomas Sr died on 25 February 1584 in St John, Temberhill, Norwich, Norfolk, England.
