Isaac Hendricksen Kip

Isaack: He was baptized at the New Church, Amsterdam, Holland, on Jan 10, 1627, and came to America with his parents. He was admitted to the Rights of a Great Burgher in New Amsterdam on April 11, 1657, but unlike his father and brothers did not enter upon a political career. The only office he held in New Amsterdam was that of stamper, to which he was appointed Feb. 20, 1674, and on Oct. 27, 1675 he was nominated for magistrate of New Harlem. He was a yacht Captain engaged in river trade between New Amsterdam and the settlements at Esopus (Kingston) and Fort Orange (Albany). His descendents settled in Rhinebeck.

His father died at Fort Orange.

• one of the 93 who signed the Remonstrance that convinced Stuyvesant to surrender New Netherland to the British in 1664.

    Isaac Hendricksen Kip was baptized on 10 January 1627 at Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He married Catalyntje Snyers, daughter of Hendrick Janszen Snyder and Geertje Scheerhirch?, on 8 February 1653. Isaac Hendricksen Kip married Maria Vermilye on 26 September 1675. Isaac Hendricksen Kip died in July 1678 at age 51. He died before 6 October 1686.

    He was a yacht captain trading between New Amsterdam and Esopus (Kingston) and Fort Orange (Albany). Children (not necessarily in order) of Isaac Hendricksen Kip and Catalyntje Snyers
