About Danil Anisimov
The Anisimov family were from a clan of the Mountain Jews known as "Ozhdoo", and they lived in the area near Petrovsk (later renamed into Makhatchala after Civil War hero Makhach) - Tarki (Tarki-Aulim) and Buinaksk (which was called Temir Kahn Shura until 1922). During the time this area was under the control of the Imam Shamil (until 1859), their surname was "Nisim-oglou" which means son of Nisim. The surname later became Anisimov.
