Charleston Gazette Nov 3 1940 Obit - James D. Painter

Services will be held at 2 pm today at Dothan Baptist church for James D. Painter, 64, of Dothan, who died Friday night in a Charleston hospital of a heart ailment.

Rev. John Williamson of Pax and Rev. Joe Rodgers of Mt. Hope will officiate and burial will be in Dothan cemetery. Gaye and Kittinger of Montgomery are in charge of arrangements.

Surviving are his wife; six sons, Lawrence of Longacre, Earl, George and J.D. Painter, jr, of Dothan, Carl of Milburn and Harold of Scarbo; three daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Payne of Bluefield, Va., Mrs. Violet Gambel of Auxier, Ky, Mrs Lona Payne of Dothan.
