Biography
dtr. of John Constable (labourer) & widow of Hunt.[1]

There passed away on Monday evening one of the oldest residents in this State in the person of Mrs. Phil Thacker, who came to Western Australia in the ship "Cynthia" on June 1, 1850 being then only 17 years of age. The deceased lady reached the ripe old age of 75 years. She was married twice, her first husband, being Mr. Hubble. She leaves behind a very large circle of friends and relatives to mourn her loss, the issue from her marriage being two sons, three daughters, 50 grand-children, and 13 great-grandchildren. The funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon and was largely attended. The cortege moved from her son-in-law's residence, York Road. The chief mourners were Mr. and Mrs. Hubble, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Woods, Mr. Geo. Martin, Mr. J. McMeel attended on behalf of the A. O. F. Court Little John. The Rev. R. H. Moore officiated at the grave. The following sent wreaths and other floral tributes : — Mrs. Throssell, Mrs. Coles and Family, Mr. and Mrs. A. Scott, Miss May Holland, Nurse Fay, .Mrs. J. H. Gregory, Mr. and Mrs. A. Hyde, Mrs. Bennett and Family, Mrs. Dhu and Family, Mrs. W. R. Tinks, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Powell, Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Byfield, Mr. and Mrs. A. Byfield, Mr. and Mrs. A. Sunderland, Mr. and Mrs. B. Grey, Mr. and Mrs. J. Woods, Mr. and Mrs. Walsh, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Cook, A.O.F. Court, Little John, Husband, Martin and Sarah, George and Phoebe, Jack and Lizzie, John and Louisa, Jane and Peter, Alice and Alfred, Lena and Charlie. Mr. J. W. Purslowe had charge of the funeral arrangements.
