BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE:

Jane Roper, (daughter of James Roper, farmer, and Sarah Snell) 1837, was bapt 23 April 1837 in Whitechurch Canonicorum, Dorset, England (BVRI-2); Jane 23 was living with her mother and step father, in the Five Bells Inn, in Whitchurch Canonicorum, at the 1861 census; in 1865 / 66, she was a beneficiary from the estate of Aunt Sarah Farwell Roper; [Edmund Warren has this Jane marrying James Harris, farmer, who had been born in Whitechurch Canonicorum about 1839.] :
