Jessie Elmina Wilson

Jessie was the daughter of Alden S. Johnson Bryson and Charlotte W. (Messer) Bryson.

She married Dock Franklin Gibson on March 6, 1898 in Harrison, Boone Co., Arkansas. They had one daughter together, Bertha Mae.

Jessie later married Alva Enos Wilson on June 11, 1904 in Neosho, Newton Co., Missouri. Jessie and Alva had two daughters; Mary Evelyn and Naomi Irene.

Obituary - MRS. JESSIE WILSON

Webb City, MO - Mrs. Jessie E. Wilson, 85 years of age, 123 North Ball Street, died at 4 o'clock Friday afternoon in a Joplin rest home.

Born August 1, 1880, in Dillsboro, N.C., she moved with her parents to Neosho when she was 11 years old, and has lived in the Joplin area ever since. She moved to Webb City approximately two years ago.

She was married to the late Alva Wilson June 11, 1904, and was a member of Christ's Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Bertha Roughton, 3110 East Fourteenth Street in Joplin, Mrs. Mary E. Helton, Shoal Cliff Drive, Joplin, and Mrs. Naomi Mering, Webb City; one brother, Sidney J. Bryson, Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Ollie Palmer, Mountain Home, Ark., and Mrs. Lilly Cook, Los Angeles, Calif.; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Hurlbut-Mix-Booe Chapel, and burial will be in Lowell cemetery at Lowell, Kansas.

NOTE: Funeral Book and obituary indicate Jessie's date of death as 01 July, 1966. U.S. Social Security Death Index states 15 July, 1966 which I believe to be incorrect.
