Gerald,
I deepfully appriciate your efforts on my behalf. Thanks, my friend.
I do beleive the option on 1st Volunteers Tennessee Heavy Arty are the correct one. As youve stated; both names are represented in the same Co in the unit. I am quite sure since they were brothers they wanted to serve together.
I do beleive I leave Jens H.F Bruun Neergaard as he his now, because I dont have any info if he was in a Confederate or Union - unit. I
ve got a tip that he mat have used his frist lastname when he enlisted:- "Bruun"="Brown". And as you know; there are "no Browns" in the US... ;-)
I have by the way found 2 other Danes in 1st Georgia Inf (Olmsteads). One Johan Bernt Holst and his brother Christian M. Holst. J.B Holst was the Vice-Consul for Denmark in Savannah and did run the brokerfirm J.B Holst & Sons.
Your Obedient Servant,
Roy H Larsen
