John & Elizabeth were married in 1833 at Saddleworth, England.

They had several children in England, but only two sons, John III & Joseph, survived. They were pioneers to Utah with the Darwin Richardson Co. in 1854.

The year after arriving in Utah they were blessed with another child, a daughter, they named Ruth Agnes. These three children grew to adulthood and raised families of their own.
