John McKee

John McKee (James McKee2, James McKee1). He married Mary Doughty, daughter of Richard Doughty. She died BEF 1838.  

Children of John McKee and Mary Doughty are:  35   i. James R. McKee was born BEF 1820. He married Elizabeth Cochran 17 AUG 1839 in Shelby County, IN.   + 36   ii. Felix L. McKee was born ABT 1824 in Indiana

Felix L. McKee (John McKee3, James McKee2, James McKee1) was born ABT 1824 in Indiana. He married Melissa Jones. She was born ABT 1827 in Indiana. He married Lucinda Chapman 13 FEB 1848 in Boone County, IN. She was born ABT 1824 in Indiana.  

Children of Felix L. McKee and Melissa Jones are:   150   i. Thomas Marion McKee was born ABT 1859 in Indiana. 

 151   ii. Jasper McKee was born ABT 1865 in Indiana

   Ms. Taunton gives OHIO as the birthplace of John McKEE but does not give a date.  At least 4 of his siblings are reported to have been born in PA. William was probably the oldest and was born in Westmoreland Co., PA. James, Miriam and Anthony Wayne were all born in PA, but no Co. or Twp. is listed.  John's first marriage is listed in Butler Co., OH as 06 JAN 1820.  It would seem likely that he was born about 1800.  Per Ms. Taunton, there were 2 James McKEEs on the 1800 census in Westmoreland Co., PA but it is not known if one was John's father.

   In the list of Butler Co. marriages, there is another John McKEE marriage in 1816 to Martha Martin.  Evidently Ms. Taunton has reason to believe this is another John.  She does report that John was married twice; the second time to Rebecca WILKERSON.  No time or place is given.
