About John Wadham, IV
John Wadham, son of John and Susannah Wadham, born 8 July, 1655, in Wethersfield, Conn.; died 30 June, 1718, in Wethersfield; married 1st, 20 December, 1677, Hannah Bidwell, daughter of John and Sarah (Wilcox) Bidwell of Wethersfield. She was born about 1658 and died 17 June, 1696, aged thirty-eight years.
Her father, John Bidwell, was "a proprietor by courtesie of the town" in 1640. He owned a tan yard and before 1669 had built a saw mill. He was chosen chimney viewer 1655-1661; was freed from watching, warding and training in 1670. Both he and his wife Sarah (who was a daughter of John Wilcox) were original members of the Second or South Church. John Bidwell died 1687; mv., June 4, £419-10-6. John Wilcox, the maternal grandfather of Hannah Bidwell Wadham, came from Leicestershire, England, to Hartford, Connecticut, about 1636. He was chosen Surveyor of Highways 1643-1644; was made first Selectman in 1645; and townsman in 1650. He died October 14, 1651; will dated July 24; Inv., £391-13. (Ibid.)

John Wadham, Jr., married 2nd, 13 April, 1697, Abigail, daughter of John Baldwin, Sr., of Milford, Conn., and granddaughter of Obadiah Bruen of New London, Conn. She was born in Milford, Conn., 15 November, 1658; and baptized in New Haven, Conn., 27 March, 1659. She married 1st, Samuel Baldwin, son of Nathaniel Baldwin, and they "settled in Guilford in 1675, where he died 12 January, 1696, leaving his wife Abigail and six children."
