Mr. Coggeshall's farm was situated in Newport, RI (now Middletown, RI), near Portsmouth, RI. He was admitted a freeman of Portsmouth RI, June 4, 1677. The earmarks of his cattle were a "crosse" on both ears, it being his father's mark and is entered upon the records of Portsmouth, RI, March 9, 1676 and 1678. He was buried on his farm in Middleton, RI. His will was dated 1722.

Death

Joshua Coggeshall died 4 Sep 1723 in Newport, Newport, Rhode Island. His date of death is mentioned in the heading of his inventory taken on 11 September 1723[2]

His will is dated 19 November 1722 with a codicil dated 6 August 1723 and proved on 7 October 1723 in Newport, Rhode Island.[3]

He is buried in the Portsmouth Friends Churchyard in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, [4] although no stone has been found.
