Josiah Sears removed to East Bridgewater, MA, about 1711, and lived in the old house afterward owned by Capt. Jona. Bass, in rear of Samuel B. Allen's, returning to the Cape about 1725. The estate of Josiah Sears of Provincetown was settled in 1727, his wid Judith being appd admx, Aug. 23, in that year. The inventory amounted to L 122 7 0, and dower was set off Apr. 25, 1728. The estate proved to be insolvent. The will of Samuel Howes of Yarmouth, dated Jun 8, 1722, names "Samuel, Mercy and Hannah Sears, children of my daughter Mercy Sears, deceased," and "grandson Samuel Sears, son Josiah Sears, now living with me."
