About Katherine Lord
Not a known daughter of William Thompson
That Katherine, widow Lord, was the mother of Robert Lord is accurate based on Anderson's work.[1] However, there are no sources that show that her husband - and Robert's father - was named Robert Lord.
Named as mother of by the unreliable Raymon Tingley.[5] So far no evidence has been found to establish these relationships.
- Faith the wife of Edward Brown and Daniel Warner
- Grace, the wife of Robert Fitts
- Anna wife of William Bartholomew.

Katherine has been shown with parents William Thompson and Frances Thompson without sources. There are no quality sources to support that her last name at birth was Bartholomew, which would seem incorrect if her parents were Thompson.
- "In his will of 1 March 1640, John Lord of Sudbury, Suffolk, bequeathed to his wife land 'in the parish of St. Gregory in Sudbury which I late purchased of Robert Lord my kinsman and Katherine his mother' and to 'my cousin Robert Lord, if he comes again from beyond the seas to demand it, ten pounds'"[3] This establishes the relationship of Robert and Katherine, formerly of Sudbury, Suffolk, now of New England.
- Resided probably at Sudbury, St. George, Suffolk when she emigrated, as she and her son Robert sold property there to his kinsman/cousin John Lord (will dated 1 Mar 1640).
- Immigrated to Ipswich, Essex County, Massachusetts, before 5 Feb 1637/38 when she was granted 6 acres as "the widow Lord".
- She died on 12 May 1650 in Salisbury, Essex, Massachusetts Bay Colony.[4]

Bartholomew has been mentioned as the maiden name for Katherine, mother of Robert who came to Ipswich, Ma. This has not been verified from any primary source. It is probably not correct but it is used here because it is the only name attached to her that I have found to date. "Robert, Senior, Ipswich, frm. March 3, 1635-6. Town officer, Recorder, deputy. He was a cousin of John L. of Sudbury, Suffolk, Eng., to whom he and his mother Katherine sold a tenenment in S. shortly before the date of his will, 1 March, 1640. The mother came to Ipswich; propr. 1637; was made a commoner 1641. (Reg. XXXI, 160, and L. 111.) He wrote a letter to Wm.
