Leonette (Lyn) Henley Rogers passed away on June 26, 2009 in Ft. Worth, TX after a courageous battle with throat cancer. She was born on November 19, 1950 in Jackson, MS. She was a long time resident of Richardson, TX.
Leonette spent her childhood in Jackson, MS, and graduated from Murrah High School, continuing her education at Stephens College at Columbia, MO, and earning a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Texas, Austin. She was a member of the Junior League of Jackson, MS and the Mississippi Debutante Association. She studied acting in the Film Actors Lab with Adam Roarke, and Acting Workshops with Cliff Osmond, Ken Barry, Bob Nigro, and Harvey Lewis. Lyn starred in Dallas/Ft. Worth stage plays Tobacco Road, Ladies at the Alamo, California Suite, Waiting Room, Tribute, Taming of the Shrew, and The Pink Panther Strikes Back, as well as various roles in film and television. Leonette was a devoted mom, wife, sister and was an avid reader. She loved horseback riding and she was especially involved in drug and alcohol recovery in her community.
