Lois F. Herr

Lois F. Herr, age 83, formerly of Nappanee, died at 1:45 am, Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Miller's Merry Manor in Wakarusa. She was born on September 25, 1929 in Union Township, to Paul K. and Dorothy (Newcomer) Martin. On June 24, 1949, she married Francis L. Herr in Union Township. He preceded her in death on May 4, 2008.

Lois worked as a cook for several schools in the area. She was a lifetime member of the Union Center Church of the Brethren, where she was also active in the Women's Fellowship. She was also a member of the Better Homes Club and the Union Center Ladies Aid. Mrs. Herr was well known for her quilting.

Surviving are 2 Sons, Dean (Colleen) Herr of Wakarusa and Devon (Deb) Herr of Nappanee, 6 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren; 2 Sisters, Verda Jump of Goshen and Thelma (Dave)Snider of Wichita, Kansas; and a brother, Roy (Carol) Martin of Goshen. She was preceded in death by a Granddaughter, a Great Grandson, 2 Sisters and 2 Brothers.
