Lynda "Lyn" Mae Schwenger

Peacefully at home with family by her side on Monday, December 21, 2015 in her 79th year. Beloved wife of the late Murray. Cherished and much loved mother of Susan and Ken (Pam). Proud and loving grandma to Allan and Jamie. Sister of Mervyn (Alice); Janice (Bill Spring) and Carol (George Provost). Daughter of the late James and Viola Handy. Predeceased by her brother, Donald, and sister, Joan. Lynda will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. With great sadness, she leaves behind a multitude of people who cherished her friendship, kindness, sense of humour and upbeat personality. Lynda accepted her diagnosis with both dignity and bravery and was an inspiration to us all. Words cannot express the love and care shown to Lynda throughout her cancer journey by family and friends and, especially, the care given by her daughter-in-law, Pam, until the end. Friends may call at Turner & Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas St. W, Etobicoke (between Kipling and Islington Aves.), on Sunday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 11 a.m. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
