Archibald Vincent Arnold (February 24, 1889 – January 4, 1973) was an American major general during World War II.
Biography
He was the second in command of the 7th Infantry Division during the Battle of the Aleutian Islands. Arnold also was second-in-command of the 7th during the rest of the Pacific War until he was placed in command of the 7th.
He was the Commanding Officer of the 7th during the Philippines Campaign and the Battle of Okinawa.
After the war he was made the military governor of Korea.
He was married to Margaret Treat Arnold.
