About Mamerto Alejandrino Natividad
General Mamerto Natividad is a haciendero, author, katipunan member (Magdalo faction), and a Filipino military leader who lead numerous successful battles during the Philippine Revolution against the Spaniards. He is credited for establishing army headquarters in Biak na Bato. The town of Gen Mamerto Natividad in Nueva Ecija was named after him.

The town was formerly known as Kaparangan and was renamed to honor "Mamertito" in a ceremony on 6/22/1957 that was attended by his only surviving child Rosita Saballa Natividad, my maternal grdmother-
