Not the wife of Claes Corneliszen van Schouwen

This tree was originated as a bogus pedigree for Pieter Claesen Wyckoff by the fraudulent genealogist, Gustave Anjou.

Margaret Van Der Goes was born in 1601 at Middleburg, Zeeland, Netherlands. Margaret Van Der Goes was born in 1601 at Of, Middleburg, Zeeland, Netherlands. She married Claes Cornelissen Van Schouwen on 9-Nov-1623 at Netherlands. Margaret Van Der Goes died on 2-Aug-1631 at Zierikzee, Zeeland, Netherlands. She died on 2-Aug-1631 [??]<at Middleburg, Zeeland, Netherlands.>

She cannot have been the wife of Claes Corneliszen van Schouwen. He was born abt. 1607, so a marriage in 1623 seems very unlikely, and second when he marries Metje there's no mentioning of a previous marriage or Claes being a widower. So his marriage to Metje Herpertse was a first marriage.

Note that this is a completely bogus marriage location. Here is a Dutch Genealogy blog which explains the error. It comes from an early Family Tree Maker autocomplete for "Holland" which failed to recognize the name as the intended Netherlands, and instead "found" a match for an obscure street in a tiny village of Reusel. As a result, this location has been propagated into countless trees all over databases and the Internet. It should be removed wherever it is found, because it is extremely unlikely that many people's genealogical ancestors actually came from that small town.
