About Marie Harstad
The home of Mr. and Mrs. A. Halseth, at 905 Seventh street, Sioux City, Iowa, presented a brilliant appearance Tuesday evening to the more than 150 family and guests who attend the marriage of the eldest daughter, Miss Marie Halseth, to Charles O. Harstad. The bride’s parents presented the newlyweds a check for an all-expense-paid trip to Europe. They expect to be gone three to four months.
Mrs Marie Halseth Harstad, 89, 1718 Grandview boulevard, died Tuesday at a hospital after a four month illness. Mrs Harstad was the widow of Charles Harstad, one of the former owners of the H & H shoe store.
She was born August 7, 1871 in Sioux City and was married May 5, 1891 to Mr Harstad in Sioux City. He died in 1954.
She was a member of the First Lutheran church, Girls of '68 and the Comas club.
Survivors include two sons, Arthur of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Milton of Sioux City; a sister, Mrs Inga Ness of Sioux City, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
